How to Set Up Wyapy with Jira

Step 1: Install the App

Install Wyapy from the Atlassian Marketplace.

Step 2: Customize your survey

Customize your survey from your Space or Project settings.

To configure:

  1. Go to your Project Settings and select Apps.
  2. Click Wyapy.
  3. Configure the primary rating, secondary ratings (categories/aspects) and comment prompt.

Step 3: Configure Your Workflow Screen

Add the Wyapy field called Feedback to your “Done” transition screen so developers can provide feedback when completing issues.

Important: Wyapy only supports Company-managed projects. Team-managed projects do not allow custom screens on transitions and are not compatible.

To configure:

  1. Go to your Project Settings and select Workflows.
  2. Click Edit workflow on your active workflow.
  3. Select the transition to “Done” (or your completion status).
  4. Under Request input, choose Show a screen.
  5. Click Add or update your screens link.
  6. Create a new screen or edit an existing one.
  7. In the Select field dropdown, search for and add the Feedback field.
  8. Save your changes and publish the workflow.

Step 4: Enable the New Transition Experience

Wyapy’s feedback widget works with Jira’s new transition experience.

This customization can be done at an individual level:

To enable:

  1. Go to your Jira personal settings at https://YOURWORKSPACE.atlassian.net/jira/settings/personal/general
  2. Enable New work transition experience.

The new transition can also be enabled at an organization level but this requires an administrator to contact Atlassian support

Step 5: Add a Scrum Board (for Sprint AI Reports)

If you want AI-generated sprint reports, ensure your project uses a Scrum board so sprint events are visible to Wyapy.

The reports will be automatically generated a few minutes after the sprint has been closed and will be available in your Wyapy dashboard that can be accessed from the top bar of your project.

Where can I view collected feedback?

Open the Wyapy app from your Jira top navigation bar to access your feedback dashboard.

I don't see the feedback widget on transitions

The Feedback field must be added to your transition screen. Follow the workflow configuration in Step 3 to add it.

The widget appears as just a large text box

This happens when using the classic transition UI. Enable the New work transition experience in your Jira settings (Step 4) to get the proper feedback widget interface.

I don't see an option to add a screen to my transition?

Team-managed projects in Jira do not support custom screens on transitions, which is required for Wyapy to capture feedback. Only Company-managed projects are supported.
